Currently in Development: Employee Engagement Surveys

Here on the Youmanage blog we often preach about successful and ongoing communication with employees and how it can benefit your business.

This is because we believe that communication is the key to higher employee engagement, and research suggests that disengaged employees cost organisations between $450 and $550 billion annually, so it's really important we tackle this issue head-on.

There are loads of ways you can communicate with your staff, but it can become difficult for bigger companies to provide that individual understanding of an employee’s needs. Because of this, employers and HR teams run the risk of losing staff because they haven’t picked up on trends and pain points that are pushing entire groups of employees away.

That’s why the dedicated development team at Youmanage have been working hard to integrate the functionality within our HR software system to create, carry out and analyse employee surveys.

Employee surveys help employers to measure and better understand employees’ attitudes, motivations and overall job satisfaction. It also helps them to locate and define pain points that could be improved on to increase employee engagement & well-being. Businesses need to concentrate on employee engagement to develop workers who can drive innovation and propel their organisations forward.

Research suggests that satisfied, motivated employees will create higher customer satisfaction and in turn positively influence organisational performance.

We’re now coming to the other side of this particular venture, so lucky you, you get to see some screenshots of this great new feature!

Capture

The surveys themselves can have as many questions as you like, with various question types to choose from including multiple choice, star ratings and text fields. Managers and HR users can also save questions and answers so that similar surveys can be used in the future, making it an easy to use and intuitive addition to the system.

You can preview your surveys before you send them, and then go straight on to send to all employees – or, you can filter it down to any combinations relating to the hierarchy you use, wuch as Company, Division, Location, Department, Employee Level etc.

After employees have filled out the survey, we get to the most important part – analysing the results. Through the analysis section of the survey capability, users can spot trends and patterns in employee motivation and satisfaction.

Capture

The results of your surveys can be displayed as pie charts (as above - the colours change depending on your chosen colour theme within Youmanage which is pretty cool!) line graphs, bar graphs or tables. This gives you the flexibility to display your results as you see fit, for presentations to directors or just to make it look pretty!

We'll be updating you soon on the process we are making with surveys; we're not far off, that's for sure, and the survey capability will likely tie in to the Youmanage Version 4 release, scheduled for this Autumn.
